About Naomi Huffman, LMHC

Helping children feel understood, capable, and confident.

Naomi Huffman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and founder of Transforming Trauma.

She earned her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has over five years of experience helping children and teens ages 5–18 navigate Autism (verbal), ADHD, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, school refusal, bullying, and family transitions.

Naomi believes children deserve to be understood at their developmental level, not expected to process emotions like adults. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, strengths-based counseling, and creative interventions such as art and interactive play, she helps children better understand themselves, build confidence, and develop lifelong coping skills.

Known for her compassionate, direct approach, Naomi creates a safe, supportive environment where children feel heard and parents feel supported as their child grows emotionally and socially.

“I love working with kids because it makes me happy! I get to stop unhealthy coping patterns before they become a lifelong issue.”

One of Naomi's greatest joys is building long-term relationships with children and families.

She has had the privilege of walking alongside clients through the middle school and high school years, watching children who once struggled with emotional outbursts, low confidence, or overwhelming anxiety gradually become young people who can identify their emotions, advocate for themselves, navigate healthy conflict, and face life's challenges with resilience.

For Naomi, therapy is about helping children become confident young adults who understand themselves, trust their own voice, and know they don't have to face life's challenges alone.
